i ❤ dumaguete | i ❤ silliman

Dumaguete City is a small coastal town in Negros Oriental in the Philippines. The very first thing you see if you travel by boat is of course, Dumaguete's pier; but right beside it is THE Rizal Boulevard. It stretches to several blocks and a lot of Dumaguetenos jog there early in the morning and late in the afternoon. There are also a lot of restaurants, coffee shops and restobars and the place is alive from morning to night.

Let me show you the place...

Beautiful, non? Specially that third photo which looks like it came straight out of a cartoon, but was just really taken from my iPad.

Now a Dumaguete introduction would not be complete without talking about my alma mater, Silliman University. If you're reading this and thinking about attending a good university, don't hesitate to head straight to SU. It would be an experience like no other.

I could never really take pictures of all the places in Silliman as I was too busy reminiscing my college years, and pointing to baby boy where mommy used to study. I love how there's a lot of space here to walk around and it's soooo green! I never really appreciated it back then.

We also dropped by the booth area where different student organizations, sororities, and fraternities had booths/tents laid out for founder's week. I wasn't able to take a lot of pictures, but we had a really great time. xx

Skydreamer Dines in Dumaguete: Sans Rival

Whenever you hear someone's going to Dumaguete, what usually comes to mind? Silliman University, perhaps? The City of Gentle People, yes? To some though, it means Silvanas from Sans Rival. Their Silvanas have become a favorite pasalubong for Dumaguete tourists.

For me, it's their hot choco that makes me want to go back again and again. It's made of tablea with milk and the consistency is very thick. It's probably the best hot chocolate ever and the best thing about it? - It only costs P28 - that's less than a dollar!

If there's probably one thing I don't like about the place, it's the fact that they don't have high chairs or kiddie chairs which is definitely a challenge for those who are bringing toddlers. Hope they can invest in at least a couple of them for each location.

Skydreamer Dines in Dumaguete: Flamin' Grill Cafe

I just had the best flame grilled burger in town! It's sooo ridiculously good and affordable! It can seriously give Flame It, Big City and Burger Joint a run for their money if it was located in Cebu. It's so good, that even though they just opened and never advertised, they already have a lot of followers.

Their menu has a selection of grilled burgers, gourmet sandwiches, desserts and rice meals. Prices range from P40 - P130. If you're in Dumaguete, be sure to drop by this place.

Sorry I can't show pictures. I took some, but my camera's acting up. I have to take it to Sony.
