Skydreamer Dines in Cebu: La Maison!

So last night, hubby and I, together with my sister jenn, and his sister nessy went out for dinner. We settled for La Maison because they have this "barkada package" that was too irresistible. We were planning on Kublai Khan or Hola Espana, but decided against them after checking out the menu in La Maison.

For less than a thousand, we got their signature baby-back ribs (arguably THE best in town! Their version can beat Casa Verde's any day!), steak and mushroom casserole, and grilled chicken with herbs. They also served four servings of rice, and frothy iced tea! While waiting for our food, they served us complimentary garlic sticks.

Their food is divine. It's not too stuffy, or too rich for my taste. Everything in their platter was just right, specially the chicken with rosemary.

If you're in Cebu, you've got to try it! They have two more barkada packages, but we picked this because it was the only package that included the ribs that made them famous.

Check out the pictures:

Skydreamer Dines in Cebu:Bread Talk!

I love bread! Do you?...Here in Cebu, we have some great bakeries, and the one I love most is Leona's. But you have got to try Bread Talk too! Yep, breads do talk in this place! Their pastries and breads are so creative, that more often than not, I end up just going around the place, looking at whichever bread catches my eye. I get so indecisive because they have many goodies to choose from. I mean, take a look at the pictures, and you'll understand why.

...they all look great, right?...and they taste just as good as they look!

Bread Talk has branches in Northwing and The Terraces. Most of their breads/pastries are affordable with prices ranging from P29 - P90, depending on the size and flavor.

Oh, and in case you were wondering, that bread called Tornado?...It isn't chocolate and vanilla, honey! It's squid! They fooled me too, haha!

That's it for now.

Skydreamer Dines in Cebu: Flame It vs. Big City

I love monstrous flame grilled burgers! They're the best! (NO, I don't diet and I don't care if it's junk food!) Hubby and I compared Flame It and Big City last Sunday after watching GI Joe, and this is what we came up with:

We decided to see if Flame It's flame grilled burger is better than Big City's grilled burger with cheese.

First off, the price. Flame It's Flame grilled burger (basic burger without cheese) costs P78, while Big City's Grilled Burger with cheese and french fries on the side cost P110. I totally understand the difference. Cheese and fries add-on? Totally reasonable.

On to the taste. Flame It tasted sweet-tangy, was more meaty, and was juicy! It was divine! I loved it!

Big City had more flavor, but it was a bit dry compared to Flame It's burger, and it also looked bigger because they flattened out the patty to accommodate the size of the bun. Their fries were delish though, and they gave us some sort of dip (I don't really know what it was. It's like ranch, but not really).

So here are some pictures. At the end, we're going to put an X on the burger we liked better.

Here you go:

AND THE VERDICT:

haha. yep, we loved both burgers! Flame grilled burgers rule!
